NIOS (National Institute of Open Learning) is most accepted through open education or distance learning programs to meet its desired level of education for learners. There are students who leave either in the middle of the 10th and 12th studies for some reason or face failure in the examination of related standards. For such students, NIOS offers easy platform to get admission in their respective standards and to complete the educational journey through NIOS Patrachar.
Under the correspondence medium of the study, students are encouraged to take admission in class 10th and 12th and continue to study to obtain certificates from the respective board of education. National Open Schooling Institute (NIOS), formerly known as National Open School (NOS), was formed in November 1989 by the Ministry of Human Resource Development (MHRD), Ministry of Education as an autonomous organization in pursuance of the National Education Policy 1986. Was established in NIOS provides several business, life enhancement, and community-oriented courses in addition to general and academic courses at the secondary and senior secondary levels. It also provides primary-level courses through its Open Basic Education Programs (OBE). Through a Gazetted Notification, India’s NIOS is vested with the authority to examine and certify registered students with pre-degree level courses whether it is academic, technical, or vocational. Association of Indian Universities, videography letter no. EV / 11 (354) / 91/25 July 1991 issued the Equivalence of Senior Secondary Certificate Examination of NIOS.
